GROCERY RELIEF PROGRAM

Union Members if you are in need or know of a family that is unemployed and in need of Food for a lesser price, a Grocery Relief program has been established. Please go to the “Arms of Love” “Grocery Relief Program” website at: http://www.groceryrelief.org/ Helping Families in need during change times is the GRP motto. Grocery Relief is a for-profit Atlanta based food co-op distribution program currently serving GA families in need due to the current economic situation of our country. The ultimate mission of GRP is to make available affordable and nutritional foods to all who are in need. Initially it is the goal of GRP to provide food relief for over a million families identified by public school social workers. These families have lost employment and are waiting for state unemployment benefits. Food Packages can be purchase for $28.00 for example the following items:

2lbs. Pork Chops (4x6 oz)

5lbs. Chicken Leg Quarters

28 oz. Chicken Breast

28 oz. Chicken Breast Filets

32 oz. Breaded Chicken Breast Filets

16 oz. Smoked Sausage

16 oz. Bag of Black Eyed Peas

1 bunch Fresh Collards

1 head Cabbage

10ct. Frozen Waffles

16 oz. Bean Soup Mix

1 lb. Rice

1 lb. Instant Potatoes (14 servings)

15 oz. Sliced Peaches

32 oz. Borden Shelf Stable Milk

One Dozen Eggs

One Dessert Item

This could feed a family of 3 for a week or a family of one for a month. The menu will change monthly; just bring a box to carry your items in.

For those who would like to help other families during these hard economic times you can go into any Best Bank located in Kroger, and Wal-mart Stores to make contributions and sponsorship. The GRP will Also begin to except food stamps however They are awaiting for there Bank to ship them the Hyper COM T4210 Machine so that they can process the EBT, Visa, Master Card, America Express, Diner Club, and Discover. “Please note that the Department of Agriculture has approved us as a Vendor to receive Food Stamps.” per Sandra A. Gresham, Chief Executive Officer.

Pace union encourage out reach programs volunteer assistance, while also helping our Union Members who are struggling due to our furlough situation and may need some assistance with lower cost meals to feed school age children or the elderly who are in need.
